Binh Dinh wants to call for investment in a $ 250 million car factory from foreign capital

According to the Binh Dinh Newspaper, the Provincial People’s Committee has just submitted a report to the Ministry of Planning and Investment on the evaluation of the results of the implementation of the list of national projects calling for foreign investment to 2020.

According to the list of projects calling for foreign investment to 2020, Binh Dinh has 4 projects including: Binh Dinh Children’s Hospital (300-bed hospital, area of 3.72 hectares, total estimated investment capital of 24 million. USD); Binh Dinh Power Center (coal-fired thermal power plant, area of 250 hectares, total estimated capital of 4 billion USD).

In addition, Cat Nhon solid waste disposal complex (solid waste treatment plant, area of 70 hectares, total estimated investment capital of 75 million USD); Highway 19 project, section from Ba Gi bridge junction to Pleiku city, Gia Lai province (upgrading and improving route 153 km, design speed 60-80 km / h, total estimated investment capital of 100 million USD) .

In order to match the socio-economic development orientation and the province’s foreign direct investment attraction in the coming period, the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province proposed not to continue foreign investment in the obstetric hospital project. At the same time, the province proposed the Ministry of Planning and Investment to add two projects, including: a high-quality general hospital in Nhon Hoi economic zone (300 beds, an area of 3.5 hectares, total investment) expected 15 million USD); Car manufacturing factory (30,000 – 50,000 vehicles / year in Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial – Urban – Service Park, with an area of 50 hectares, total estimated investment capital of 250 million USD).

Previously, in June 2020, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung received and worked with Mr. Kenichi Horinouchi, General Director of Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam to explore investment cooperation opportunities in the province.

At the meeting, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee expected Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam Corporation to invest in building auto assembly plant in Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial Park. Mr. Dung also pledged that the province has attractive mechanisms and policies for investors, especially the land fund, clean premises and improved administrative procedures.

It is known that Mitsubishi Motors is looking for a suitable location to build a second car factory in Vietnam with a total investment of about 250 million USD, with an expected capacity of 30,000 – 50,000 units / year.

Previously, the first Mitsubishi factory in Vietnam was located in An Binh ward, Di An town, Binh Duong province.

Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial – Urban – Service Park in Nhon Hoi expanded economic zone (Canh Vinh commune, Van Canh district, Binh Dinh province) has a total area of 2,308 ha.

The project consists of two phases: Phase 1 (Zone A) has an area of about 1,425 hectares including Industrial, Residential and Resettlement; Phase 2 (Zone B) covers an area of about 883 ha, is planned to be an urban, service and commercial area.
