Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day to showcase cutting-edge tech
The 2019 Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day (AI4VN), scheduled to take place on August 15 and 16 in Hanoi, is expected to attract many leading global experts in the area.
According to Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy, AI4VN aims to promote AI development in Vietnam via connecting members of the ecosystem like research institutes, technology companies, and startups.
Peter Vesterbacka, Co-founder of Angry Birds, will make a presentation about Al application in different areas of life.
The event will see other leading delegates such as Ulli Waltinger from Siemens Corporate Technology; Kyoo Sung Noh from Korea Productivity Centre; Dr. Hsu Hui Huang from Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at Tamkang University in Taipei, Taiwan; along with Vietnamese exports such as Le Hong Viet, Chief Technology Officer – FPT; Nguyen Huu Duc, Director of the Centre for Data and Computation Technologies.
As part of the event, a series of workshops on AI in tourism, health, education, and finance, among others, are set to take place with the participation of Vietnamese and foreign experts, businessmen and researchers.
Visitors will be treated to exhibitions, workshops, and performance of advanced technologies including self-driving cars and robots.
According to Gartner Group, the world’s AI industry in 2018 saw strong growth of more than 70% compared to the previous year, reaching the value of US$1.2 trillion. AI would become one of the breakthrough technologies in the next 10 years thanks to advances in calculation capacity, speed, and diversified data.
In Vietnam, AI is listed among advanced technologies for prioritized investment in development. The Government considers it a spearheaded factor of the fourth Industrial Revolution.
