Singapore firm gets Bac Ninh licence

The northern Bac Ninh Province’s people’s committee granted an investment licence to Maple, an apparel firm from Singapore, on January 6.

The three-stage project is expected to become operational in January 2018.The company will build a US$110-million factory on 11ha of land in the Viet Nam – Singapore Industrial Park.

The factory will produce 22 million units per year.

Chairman of the provincial people’s committee Nguyen Tu Quynh said the project, the first to receive a licence in Bac Ninh this year, would generate jobs for local workers as well as those from outside the province and improve the local industrial manufacturing value.

The chairman asked departments and agencies to facilitate the project, and said he hoped Maple would put the plant into operation as per schedule, contributing to the province’s socio-economic development.
