Binh Duong grants investment certificates to 18 companies

The Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee has granted investment certificates to 18 companies with the combined investment capital of $417 million.

Yesterday, Binh Duong held a ceremony to grant investment certificate for investors in the locality. They include 16 foreign-invested companies with the total investment capital of $372 million and two domestic companies with the investment capital of $45 million.

Also at the ceremony, Far Eastern Group inked a land lease agreement with Becamex IDC on their project expansion in Bau Bang Industrial Park. Far Eastern Group chose Binh Duong province as an ideal investment location, especially Bau Bang Industrial Park which is invested by Becamex IDC, to expand its investment on an area of 120 hectares.

According to Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of the Binh Duong People’s Committee, the most outstanding achievement in the first two months of 2018 was investment attraction. Within the first two months, the total investment capital reached VND10.3 trillion ($453.7 million) and $435 million for domestic and foreign investment, respectively.

Until now, the whole province has 31,548 domestic enterprises carrying a total registered capital of VND247.5 trillion ($10.8 billion) and 3,075 foreign-invested projects with a total capital of $29.013 billion. Binh Duong is currently ranked second nationwide in terms of foreign direct investment attraction, following Ho Chi Minh City.

Within the framework of the ceremony, Binh Duong also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with World Technopolis Association (WTA) to host the 2018 World Technopolis Association Event.

The event is expected to take place in October alongside with The 11th WTA General Assembly & Hi-Tech Fair and the 2018 Global Innovation Forum. The event is part of the province’s efforts to develop Binh Duong into a smart city.
