KinderWorld Education Group’s Outward Bound Vietnam developed in Binh Dinh soon
Pegasus Investment & Consultancy Binh Dinh JSC, the Vietnamese subsidiary of Singapore’s Kinderworld Education Group, on February 1 received its land use right certificate to develop Outward Bound Vietnam, an outdoor experiential learning facility and eco-resort at Cat Hai commune, Phu Cat district in the central province of Binh Dinh.
Situated on a 60.3 hectare site, Outward Bound Vietnam (OBV) will provide outdoors programmes that can positively impact students and young adults’ attitudes, beliefs and self-perception.
Participants at OBV will be able to engage in challenging outdoor educational activities within the surrounding environment which includes the local community, culture and resources which forms part of the philosophy of Outward Bound International.
“We are proud to be the only organisation that was granted a license from Outward Bound International to develop Outward Bound Schools in Vietnam – a destination for experiential learning,” said Ricky Tan, CEO of Kinderworld Education Group.
“OBV will work closely with Outward Bound Singapore in terms of training of outdoor instructors and the youths of Vietnam. We are proud to announce that OBV in Binh Dinh will welcome not only Vietnamese students, but also foreign students from Singapore, the ASEAN region and Australia,” he said.
“Pegasus is one of the investors in Binh Dinh who have demonstrated rapid investment progress with great improvement over the past year which few invests could rival,” said Ho Quoc Dung, Chairman of the Binh Dinh People’s Committee, expressing his hope that the OBV project will bring about a pivotal change to Binh Dinh, making the province attractive not only for its tourism capacity but also OBV education programmes. “This will give Binh Dinh the advantage and distinction over other cities and provinces in Vietnam,” he added.
Outward Bound International is a membership organisation of the worldwide Outward Bound network which currently operates in 34 countries and serves over 250,000 participants each year.
As part of KinderWorld’s complete approach to education, the development of OBV was initiated to inspire and appreciate social, cultural and community differences. OBV, to be developed in Vinh Phuc, Thanh Hoa, Danang, Quy Nhon and Phu Quoc, introduces a unique programme which fosters interpersonal, leadership, survival skills and instill social/ environmental responsibility through unique outdoor activities and adventure-based experiential learning. Participants will be encouraged to overcome their perceived limitations, face challenges, cement friendships, have fun and develop a strong sense of self.
The programmes and courses offered at OBV underpins a commitment to the ten key concepts of inspirational and authentic leadership, developing courage, teamwork, excellence and quality, effective communication, community, cultural intelligence, social awareness, conservation & preservation and reflection.
