Dak Nong People’s Committee has recently issued Decision No.1808/QD-UBND approving the addition of Duc An Solar Power Plant project in Duc An town (Dak Song district) to the list of projects calling for investment in the province in 2018-2020.

With an estimated total investment capital of about VND800 billion ($34.8 million), the project has an investment capacity of 30MW, with a land area of about 37 hectares.

According to Luu Van Trung, director of Dak Nong Department of Planning and Investment, there are currently three solar power projects in the plan, in which the 50MW Cu Jut solar power plant invested by Central Hydropower JSC will take up 63.14ha, with a total investment of VND1.36 trillion ($59.13 million).

With the installation of 187,890 panels, the average electricity output reaches 94.71 million kWh a year. This project started in June 2018.

Since coming into commercial operation, Cu Jut solar power plant has generated about 35 million kWh for the national grid. The plant is expected to generate electricity with an output of over 90 million kWh a year. With the expected revenue of about VND200 billion ($8.7 million) per year, the project has a payback period of about nine years.

In addition, also in Cu Jut district, Truc Son solar power project has been approved by Dak Nong People’s Committee in April 2018. The project has a designed capacity of 44.4MW with a total budget of VND1.1 trillion ($47.83 million), invested by Univergy K.K, Europe Clean Energies Japan K.K Company, and Youth Media JSC.
