The signing ceremony with the EPC contractor for the 45MWp Phuoc Ninh solar power project took place on March 2, 2020 at T&T Group’s office between the owner Ninh Thuan Energy Industry JSC (a T&T Group subsidiary) and a consortium consisting of SESJ-SSSA-NSN as the EPC contractor.
The EPC package is the main package of the project that includes engineering, procurement, construction, and O&M (operation and maintenance) for a duration of two years from the issuance of the completion certificate. The contractor is responsible for training and technology transfer to the owner during O&M.
Phuoc Ninh Solar Power Plant is located in Phuoc Minh and Phuoc Ninh communes, Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan province, with a capacity of 45MWp. After completion, the plant will supply the national grid with an average of 75 million kWh of electricity each year.

The project is located in Ninh Thuan province, the region featuring the highest level of solar irradiation in Vietnam, a hot spot for solar power investment. Besides strict requirements on construction quality, the project also requires the contractor consortium to meet an extremely urgent schedule.
This is a challenge that the consortium of SESJ-SSSA-NSN, building on Sharp Group’s over 60 years of technology and technical resources and NSN’s 17 years of management and construction expertise, is willing to undertake and support owner in bringing the project into operation successfully on schedule.
Recognising the importance of the package, as well as the urgent schedule, after receiving the letter of award on December 24, 2019, NSN has immediately begun handling work items, establishing a project board based in Ninh Thuan, and mobilising manpower and machinery to meet the schedule.
The Vietnamese government is perfecting the regulatory framework for renewable energy development, including solar power, opening up many opportunities for prospective investors as Vietnam is still in a phase of booming energy demand.
Previously, on December 20, 2019, NSN teamed up with Sharp Corporation to set up SNES Joint Venture, focusing on solar power in Vietnam and regional markets, providing optimal techniques for rooftop projects and solar power plants, contributing sustainable values to the investor, workers, and society alike.
