Vietnam’s Doosan Vina supplies equipment for desal plant in Bahrain

Doosan vina Vietnam, a Quang Ngai-based manufacturer shipped three equipment weighing 1,850.7 t used in the process of filtering seawater to Bapco MED in Bahrain 

Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam, a boilers for power plants and desalination plants has supplied a total of 4,125.9 tonnes (t) of equipment to Bahrain’s Bapco MED and Ruwais Refinery in Abu Dhabi, amid the current situations surrounding the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to Doosan Vina, the first shipment consisted of 15 modules weighing 2,275.2 t to the Ruwais Refinery in Abu Dhabi on 21 March, while the second order comprised three equipment weighing 1,850.7 t, which is used in the process of filtering seawater to Bapco MED in Bahrain.

The equipment supplied to Bapco MED includes an evaporator, final-effect heater, and seawater heater. The supply agreement was inked between Doosan Vina and Samsung Engineering Construction Ltd.

The equipment will heat and turn seawater into distilled water at the Bapco Refinery in the Kingdom.

Teams at Doosan Vina completed the loading process for the equipment in 10 days with the assistance of self-propelled modular transporters.

Speaking about the process, acting director of Doosan Vina’s water shop, Do Quoc Vuong said:
“Due to the quite heavy workload, apart from our 150 employees, we had to hire 50 workers from three subcontractors including OGS, INSU, and Thaco to ensure the project’s production schedule.”
