$260 Billion to invest Dai Ngai Bridge which is over Hau River, connects Tra Vinh with Soc Trong Province.

Ministry of Transportations and Communications (MOTC) informed to launch a construction project of Dai Ngai Bridge which is over Hau River, connects Tra Vinh with Soc Trong Province.

According to the plan, Dai Ngai Bridge will be located on the downstream, near Long Phu thermoelectricity center. The total length is 15,7 km. Dai Ngai 1 Bridge is over Dinh An narrow passage with 2,32 km in length, guarantees the clearance height for 10.000 and 20.000 ton go through. Dai Ngai2 Bridge is over Tran De narrow passage with 1 km in length to ensure the clearance height for 2.000 ton ships.

The total investment cost for this project is planned to an amount of $260 billion, which is invested by BOT in the first period ($126 billion) and by National budget as well as Government bonds in second period.

According to MOTC, Dai Ngai Bridge is the life-line of Expressway 60. After being opened to traffic, this bridge will connect the whole route to deploy the advantages of provinces in Southwest Vietnam such as Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, etc. Besides, this construction work can shorten about 70 km distance from Ho Chi Minh City to Soc Trang province, economize transport expense, decrease the traffic pressure for Expressway 1A, enhance the socio-economy development and strengthen security in Mekong river Delta.
