$87 million solar power plant inaugurated in Khanh Hoa

Privately-held KN Van Ninh Solar Power Investment and Development Co., Ltd. has just launched KN Van Ninh Solar Power Plant project in Khanh Hoa province in Vietnam’s southcentral coast.

Attending the ceremony were Bui Van Cuong, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of Dak Lak provincial Party Committee;Dinh Van Thieu, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, as well as leaders of Dak Lak, Dak Nong, and Kon Tum provinces, together with leaders and former leaders of local departments, leaders of KN Van Ninh Solar Power Investment and Development, contractors, and media representatives.

The KN Van Ninh Solar Power project is built on an area of 120 hectares and is located in Van Hung commune, Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province with a total investment of over VND2 trillion ($86.96 million) and with a total designed capacity of 100MWp.

Construction commenced in June 2020, and after six months of quick construction, the factory officially came into operation on December 11, 2020. When the plant is put into operation, it is expected to contribute to the national grid with a power output of nearly 162,000MWh per year, which would help reduce CO2 emissions to the environment by about 154 thousand tonnes a year.

In order to produce socioeconomic efficiency, protect the environment, and ensure safe operations, the factory has put into use the most advanced and modern technologies from leading suppliers such as Canada and Japan.

Addressing the ceremony, Khanh Hoa Vice Chairman Dinh Van Thieu praised the company’s determination, proactively overcoming difficulties in the COVID-19 pandemic and severe weather to complete this project according to schedule.

The project not only contributes to providing clean energy sources and ensuring national energy security but also contributes to labour settlement in the region and contributes to the state budget.

On the occasion, the company representative donated VND300 million ($13,000) to the Fund for the Poor in Van Hung and Ninh An communes, improving the living quality of local people.
